In her words: “One of the unexpected blessings of the first 7-8 weeks of the pandemic was that my 8 year old son, DJ, was with me the entire time as his dad was still working in an external office and we decided it was safer for him to stay with me. While I was fortunate to be very busy with my business, we created a modified schedule that allowed time at breakfast, lunch and every afternoon by 3pm when I put my teacher hat on. We enjoyed time for cooking classes, PE class (walking, biking, scootering, agility ladder, football tossing, exploring trails, meditation) – we even kept a game of monopoly going for several weeks as he learned about rent, mortgage, banking, interest rates and more. There were stressful days, I won’t downplay those; however, so proud of both of us for finding the blessing of time with each other to create lifelong memories. It’s my hope that this temporary time away from family and friends will be a constant reminder of just how blessed we are to have so much love around us.”
