In her words: “As someone who works in state government, which is an essential service, I have been working from home during quarantine. While work has been busy, I have really enjoyed working from home.
Generally I am home only to sleep, with work, volunteer and social responsibilities filling the rest of my time. In quarantine, I have spent quality time with my mother who is also my roommate. I also started baking sourdough bread. Before quarantine I never baked anything I didn’t bake from a box! I even made sourdough biscuits in my great grandmother’s cast iron skillet. I’ve balanced the baking with several social distanced long walks, the longest being 9 miles.
Though this has been a strange time in the world, I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to slow down and focus on what’s important.”
