In her words: “I had planned a 6-8 week medical leave of absence from work to heal from my newly installed hip. My surgery was March 11 and the next morning I went home to begin recovery. A few days later, it felt like the entire world joined me in sheltering-in-place. I had limited mobility, a lot of discomfort but I was not alone! Writing about life with humor and heart is my hobby, and I had plenty of time and loads of material available to draw from. Notes from the Recliner, a series of social media posts was born. The commitment to write these little stories became a gift I gave to myself, as I was focused on finding humor and positivity in all the chaos. I’ve so had many people tell me they enjoyed them, I know they mattered to others as well. ”
