Meet Patti Lynn Mamalis

The coronavirus affected me quite suddenly. I was attending a chamber meeting and there was a mandatory ‘no touching and no contact’ rule at the meeting. I was upset and angry and not understanding as I thought “Why can’t I greet my friends and fellow business owners like I always greeted them?” It got real very fast for me, I felt so helpless, and I don’t handle change very well, so it threw me into a tailspin. I started asking “why” questions, which are impossible to answer.

Then I stopped, took a deep breathe, and decided right then and there I have no control over any of this, so I vowed to shine my light and encourage others.

I am the owner of Power word Postcards. The purpose is to inspire, motivate, and support others on their journey through the sending of postcards and greeting cards. I pivoted and am now offering sponsorships for businesses to donate cards and created a new card with the message that “hope is not cancelled.” I also did my first virtual service project where 11 volunteers got together on Zoom and wrote handwritten messages to 136 seniors who are in lock down in care centers!

There are still so many questions that can’t be answered. I know for now I am going to get through this with hope in my heart and shinning my light.

Sometimes receiving a handwritten card in the mail is the perfect encouragement we need. www.powerwordpostcards.com
