From Karianne: When I photographed René on Saturday, she was on Day 10 of symptoms of COVID-19. She hadn’t been officially tested, but based on a virtual doctor’s appointment, she was being treated as if she had the virus. I asked her why she would possibly want to take part in this project while she was sick, and she said she appreciated a reason to shower, put on makeup, get dressed, and connect! I am happy to report that René is on the mend and is feeling better each and every day!

“I am so grateful for the time I’ve been given. Time to help those who need it. Time to focus on my business. Time to appreciate everyone’s human-ness. My anxiety is high, but my gratitude is great. I’m so grateful for the friends who have adopted me into their families and the coworkers that have shown incredible love and caring, and for old relationships that have been bolstered and regrown during this stressful time.”
