I've never used Zoom before. Is there anything special I need to do?
No. At the time of your session, just click on the link that was sent to you in the confirmation email and it will take you to our session.
How should I set up my laptop computer?
Getting your computer situated may take 5-15 minutes, so please allow enough time to prepare and follow these steps prior to joining the Zoom call.
- A laptop with a working webcam is required.
- Laptop should be sitting on a table.
- Laptop should be facing away from a large light source, such an an unobstructed window or an open door (so you will be facing that light source when you are sitting at the table looking at the laptop). Here is a really(!) rough drawing of what this looks like 🙂
- The laptop will likely need to be propped up (perhaps with books) so that the camera/webcam hole is at eye level.
- The laptop screen should be approx. 3-3.5 feet away from your face.
- The screen should also be angled toward you slightly, at about 85 degrees.

What should I wear?
Please wear a solid black top with any sleeve length. Something with interest in the neck or sleeves would be great, but is not necessary. Bottoms and shoes will not be seen. Do your hair and makeup at a level you are comfortable with. Wear any accessories that you would like to.
